    Celebrate Black Heritage and Freedom this weekend.

    This weekend marks the official first day of summer. Thursday, June 20, is the Summer Solstice, the longest day and shortest night of the year.

    These are the festivals happening around the state.

    Mansfield Juneteenth Celebration - June 20, 21, 22, 23

    Mansfield Downtown Square

    The 11th Annual Juneteenth Celebration in Mansfield features DJs, a parade, soul food, live entertainment, and arts & crafts booths. Gates open at 6:00 PM on Friday, 3:00 PM on Saturday, and 10:30 AM on Sunday.

    Admission is $20 on Friday and Saturday, and free for everyone on Sunday. Ages 4 and under are admitted free.

    Let the Good Times Roll Festival - Shreveport - June 21, 22, 23

    101 Crockett Street

    Downtown Festival Plaza in Shreveport is the setting for the 37th Annual Let the Good Times Roll Juneteenth Festival. Three full days of entertainment and experiences feature a variety of local, regional, and national artists.

    Kids' Zone highlights include robotics, an archaelogy dig, and VR gaming. Adults can enjoy Science on the Rocks, making drings as a chemistry experiment. General admission tickets start at $20 for adults and $10 for children.

    Black Heritage Festival - Many - June 22

    1601 Texas Highway

    Celebrating Juneteenth, the Black Heritage Festival in Many offers the opportunity to appreciate the African American experience. Story telling, games, a car show, a parade, and a praise and worship extravaganza are included in the day's festivities.
