    Easy Stove Top Macaroni & Cheese

    Macaroni and cheese is a comfort food for people of all ages. In other words, a nice bowl of mac & cheese is good for what ails you. Creamy and delicious, this recipe is as quick as the boxed version, but it tastes so much better.

    I used cheddar for this recipe, but you can use your favorite gooey cheese on your choice of pasta.

    Ingredients

    • 1 (12oz.) package macaroni or other noodles
    • 4 Tablespoons butter, cubed
    • 1/4 cup flour
    • 2 cups milk
    • 8 oz. shredded cheese
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • pepper to taste
    • sprinkle of paprika, optional

    Directions

    1. Cook macaroni according to directions. Drain and set aside.
    2. In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
    3. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
    4. Gradually whisk in milk.
    5. Bring to a boil, and cook while stirring for 1 to 2 minutes, until it thickens.
    6. Blend in cheese and let melt.
    7. Gently fold in macaroni, being careful not to break the noodles.
    8. Sprinkle with paprika, if desired.
