Missing 16-year-old boy could be in Raleigh County
BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — The Beckley Police Department has asked the public for help in finding a missing teenager. According to a Facebook post from the Beckley Police Department, they are searching for 16-year-old Jack Silas Platter, who was last seen in the Ona area of Cabell County on July 30, 2024. The post stated Platter could be somewhere in the Raleigh County area.
Bat tests positive for rabies in Raleigh County
Bolt, WV (WOAY)—The Beckley Raleigh County Health Department reports a bat has tested positive for rabies. The animal was discovered in the Bolt area and taken for testing. The county health department is advising residents to vaccinate their pets, teach kids to avoid wild animals, never feed strays, and avoid direct contact with sick or dead animals.
