Woman arrested after slapping someone in Summers County
SUMMERS COUNTY W.Va. (Hinton News) - On August 7, around 4 a.m., a Summers County deputy received a call through Summers Control that an individual had been slapped across the face by a person later identified as Kaylee Marie Adkins, 20, of Meadow Bridge, West Virginia. The officer traveled to the victim's residence in the vicinity of Alpine Court and met with him. According to the criminal complaint, the victim stated he was asleep when his spouse woke him up and told him Adkins was acting "erratically." He allegedly stated he left his bedroom and Adkins walked up and said, “Oh, you want to act all big and bad,“ then slapped him in the face. The officer reportedly spoke with the victim's spouse who confirmed the statement. The officer placed the accused under arrest for domestic battery and transported her to Southern Regional Jail to await arraignment before the Summers County magistrate. Adkins resides with the victim which qualifies her as a "family or household member" according to WV 48-27 -204(5).
