CHARLESTON, W.Va. – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin – member of the Senate Appropriations Committee – on Friday, introduced $1,255,400 from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for seven fire departments and emergency medical services (EMS) organizations in West Virginia. The funding is made possible through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program.
Virginia man missing in Union
UNION W.Va. (Hinton News) - A Virginia man is missing in the Union area. The West Virginia State Police released the following statement: "On Friday, August 2, 2024, Senior Trooper L. A. Evans received a missing person complaint from Alisa Wilson. Mrs. Wilson advised she dropped her son, 32 year old Shayne Luke Wilson of Dinwiddie, Virginia, off in Union, W.Va. as he planned to hike north along the Allegheny Trail on Tuesday, June 11, 2024. Mrs. Wilson advised her son was seen three days later on Thursday, June 13, 2024, in Union, WV by her husband, Jonathan Wilson. Mrs. Wilson advised her son has not been seen or heard from since. Senior Trooper Evans has initiated an investigation and entered Shayne Lukes Wilson into NCIC as a missing person. This investigation remains active and ongoing." Virginia man reported missing more than a month after he was last seen
UNION, W.Va. – West Virginia State Police are asking for the public’s help to locate a missing Virginia man last seen in Monroe County. Troopers were notified Friday Shayne Wilson of Dinwiddie, Va. Was last seen June 13th in Union, W.Va. His mother reported him missing and told State Police she had dropped off her son on June 11, 2024 in Union. He had planned to hike north on the Allegheny Trail.
