Mackinac Island, known the world over for its timeless charm, is gearing up for the 2024 season with exciting new properties, events and experiences.
The highly anticipated grand openings of the Milliken Nature Art Center, the revamped Inn at Stonecliffe, the 100th Bayview Mackinac Race, and more await visitors to the island voted by readers of USA Today as the “No. 1 Best Summer Travel Destination.” Additionally, new offerings like Mackinac Jane’s Audio Tours and Mackinac’s Little Gallery, promise an enriched experience, while established favorites like Ryba’s Fudge and Watercolor Café will introduce exciting additions.
“We eagerly anticipate welcoming guests back to the island each new season, offering them unforgettable experiences,” said Tim Hygh, Mackinac Island Tourism Bureau Executive Director. “Mackinac Island holds a special place in many hearts, and we’re thrilled to showcase the hard work and enhancements made over the past months. Surrounded by majestic waters and free of cars, Mackinac Island offers a serene getaway with activities for every traveler, from exploring rich history to enjoying Victorian architecture, horse-drawn carriage rides, natural wonders, and the iconic Mackinac Island Fudge!
The island community has prepared a lineup of quintessential Mackinac Island events from May to October, including the Lilac Festival, Fudge Festival, and the 100th Bayview Mackinac Race, the world’s longest freshwater yacht race.
According to a press release circulated by Mackinac Island Tourism, which promotes the interests of hospitality businesses on the island, numerous resorts, hotels, and properties have recently enhanced amenities and undergone renovations. Updates include the opening of the Carousel Arcade, daily brunch at the Carriage House, and upgrades at Chippewa Hotel and Grand Hotel, which just wrapped up a two-year restoration project.
