One injured in Shorter Independence Day celebration shooting
TUSKEGEE − A man was shot Saturday and three men have been arrested after an incident at a Macon County Independence Day celebration. District Attorney Mike Segrest confirmed the shooting, which happened during the Shorter Liberty Day Festival that was taking place at the Old Shorter School. The man suffered non-life threatening injuries, authorities said.

Samkee Corp. opens auto parts facility in Tuskegee
The South Korean auto parts maker has officially set up shop in Tuskegee with a ribbon cutting on June 17. The city of Tuskegee welcomed their first auto parts manufacturing company to the area. Samkee Company, which is a South Korean company, invested $158 million in the manufacturing plant in Tuskegee to specialize in making parts for car engines, transmissions, and electric vehicles. They will be a Tier 1 supplier for Hyundai, Kia, and Ford.
