    Man wanted for stealing $3M worth of copper and other metals in Macon, deputies say

    The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man accused of stealing millions of dollars worth of copper and other metals.

    According to Macon Regional Crimestoppers , Daniel Clayton Hobbs is wanted in connection to a burglary that happened on Riverside Park Blvd. in Macon.

    According to the sheriff’s office, the owner of a vacant building that is for sale called and reported that someone has been entering the building and “carting off everything that isn’t nailed down.”

    Massive amounts of copper and electrical wiring were stolen from the building, along with fixtures and other items.

    The owner estimates the value of the stolen items totals $3 million.

    I'm confident that the figure cited includes the value of the property stolen and the damage to the structure to obtain it. Otherwise, he must have planned to sell it to a NY bank.
