A Macon bakery is permanently closing its doors two years after opening. Oh Honey Baking Co. announced via social media Monday that it was shutting down.

Located in Macon’s historic Ingleside Village, Oh Honey Baking Co. was opened in June 2022 by owner and cake designer Adriana Horton.

In a Facebook post dated July 1, the business stated it was with a “heavy heart” that it was permanently closing.

What started off as a specialty cake bakery had evolved into so much more with Oh Honey Baking Co. offering coffee, tea, sandwiches, soup, macarons, and an array of pastries, according to Horton.

Within an hour of posting the closure on Facebook, the business page received more than 500 interactions, many expressing sadness to see the business go.

One comment read “absolutely devastating news. Y’all’s commitments and contributions to our community were indescribable. Hoping for a new chapter in this journey from you guys.”

Other comments reflected shock that the bakery would no longer be a part of the community.

“What happened!? I was just in there today. You guys are always busy, sometimes I can’t even find a seat! Someone help me understand this, I am absolutely heartbroken. You guys were the absolute best coffee shop hands down,” the post read.

The business said the closure was effective immediately.
