    New Macon restaurant aims to put modern twist on traditional dishes. What’s on the menu

    Maconites will soon have a new downtown eatery. Braddock’s Cask & Table is set to hold its grand opening on Saturday.

    Ingrid Davis, owner, executive chef and sommelier, said Braddock’s is a contemporary restaurant inspired by diverse national and global culinary influences. Davis, who owns the restaurant with Brittan Braddock, said she plans to put modern twists on traditional dishes.

    “For example, a Spanish-inspired shrimp and grits, a gourmet mushroom forward risotto, or a Southwestern shrimp cocktail, and more,” she said. “We will feature steaks, seafood, fish, salads, soups all scratch-made with modern twists.”

    Davis describes the new business as a casual, fine-dining restaurant offering the finest cuisine, wine, beer and bourbon in addition to a full bar. She said Braddock’s will also offer zero-proof beverages.

    Davis said she is a level II sommelier, an experienced restaurant owner, and is especially passionate about food and wine. Braddock is a musician and an educator who’s also interested in craft beer and bourbon.

    Davis explained with their interests combined, the restaurant aims to embrace its customers through an excellent dining experience and be a fun resource to learn more about all things cask and table - ‘cask’ is for the drinks and ‘table’ is for the food.

    “We strive to have a welcoming and dynamic space that celebrates the rich tapestry of American and International cuisine while embracing culinary trends and techniques with a refined beverage program,” she said.

    What’s on the Braddock’s Cask & Table menu?

    Menu items include deviled eggs, lamb lollipops, mushroom risotto, a charcuterie board, a beefalo slider (combo of wagyu and bison) with aged cheddar cheese, pickles, and bourbon bacon jam, and more.

    Davis said she hopes the community is excited about dining at a place where they will always be welcomed with a smile, enjoying great food and the best beverages.

    In the fall, the duo plans to launch Ingrid’s Wine Club, a membership-only, monthly wine and food pairing educational event.

    “If you have always wanted to learn more about wine and haven’t known exactly where to start - now you do,” she said. “Be led by an expert sommelier and rotating distributors to discover the incredible, global world of wine. Stay tuned for more information on that one.”
