Madison County receives grant for recreational trail
MONTGOMERY — An abandoned railroad bed will soon become a link in a “rails to trails” recreation opportunity in Madison County. The county commission has received $400,000 to build a 10-foot-wide, 4,750-foot-long multi-use asphalt trail along an abandoned railroad bed between Smokey Hill Court and County Lake Road in an unincorporated area northeast of Huntsville, Gov. Kay Ivey’s office announced.

MADISON COUNTY – The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is sharing a way the community can show some support and love to an officer injured in an accident on Wednesday. Detective Josh Moseley was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident while working traffic control on I565 near Madison on July 17. The Sheriff’s office said he sustained multiple serious injuries throughout his body and has undergone several surgeries since the incident. Currently, he is receiving treatment in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) at Huntsville Hospital.
