Richmond woman sentenced for theft from employer
A Madison County woman was sentenced today in a Madison County Courtroom to 7 years for embezzlement from a Richmond business. Joy Poynter Emerson was charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking, after funneling nearly $60,000 from her employer’s account. The money was taken over her tenure as bookkeeper at Richmond’s Concrete Materials Company.
Madison County woman subject of Golden Alert
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office has issued a Golden Alert for a missing Berea woman. Ms. Sherry Fugate, 67, hasn’t been seen or heard from by her daughter since approximately 1:30pm on Wednesday July 10th. Fugate reportedly visited St. Joseph Hospital in Berea in the early morning hours of Thursday July 11th, 2024.
GoFundMe created for woman injured during Madison County shooting, house fire
RICHMOND, Ky. (FOX 56) — A GoFundMe has been created for the woman who was seriously injured after a shooting and house fire in Madison County. According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), deputies were dispatched to the 300 block of Jerimiah Avenue in Richmond around 2:10 p.m. on Saturday in response to a call about gunshots being fired in the area.

Niki Padadia is a clerk with Derby Liquor in Richmond, connected to a packed gas station attached to the building. He says the store offers many different items for people who stop in.

RICHMOND, Ky. (WKYT) - On Saturday, first responders were called to Jeremiah Dr. in Richmond for reports of shots fired. When police got to the scene, they found Nancey Erwin in a vehicle on the property with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. They also found the house on fire and called fire agencies for assistance.
