Annapolis Police to Hold Vote of No Confidence in Chief and Command Staff
The United Food & Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 400 Union, representing the Annapolis Police Department, has announced plans to hold a vote of no confidence in Police Chief Edward Jackson and his command team. The vote is scheduled to take place electronically on Thursday, 8 August 2024, following a meeting of the officers.

Bike enthusiasts are demanding change in the wake of a deadly crash in Fells Point involving a cyclist. A 44-year-old man was killed Friday after a driver hit his bike near South Caroline and Bank streets in Fells Point. After being struck by the vehicle, the bicyclist was ejected off of the bike, hit another vehicle that was stopped and finally came to rest after hitting a third vehicle, police said.

Maryland’s tax-free week returns this month to help parents get the clothes and supplies they need as the summer winds down and the school year fast approaches. Easton Economic Development Corporation (Easton EDC) has recently received funds from Project Restore to help with ongoing projects in downtown Easton. The funds originate from the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, which awarded over $16.2 million to assist small businesses and support local revitalization projects on the Eastern Shore. The Grants from the Business Boost Microgrant Program, the Main Street Improvement Grant, and Project Restore 2.0 will facilitate community revitalization by attracting, retaining, and expanding small businesses, along with cultural attractions and events.
