Another blast of hot weather in Central NY could bring a historic heat wave
Syracuse, N.Y. -- A blast of hot air will hit Central New York this weekend, bringing the chance of a historic heat wave. Sunday and Monday are expected to be in the low 90s in Syracuse, according to the National Weather Service. If Tuesday also reaches 90 -- the forecast is 89 -- that would be Syracuse’s fifth heat wave of the summer.
State Police Investigating Fatal Train Strike in Central New York
New York State Police are investigating a tragic incident where a pedestrian was struck and killed by a freight train. State Police officials say the incident happened around noontime on Thursday, July 25. According to authorities, they received emergency calls around 11:56 in the morning that a pedestrian was hit by a CSX freight train in Oriskany.

Another Tornado Touched Down In New York State
The month of July has been a record month for tornados in New York State and another one was confirmed to have touched down earlier this week. The National Weather Service in Buffalo confirmed that an EF-0 tornado touched down near Orwell, New York. This was the 20th tornado to be confirmed in New York State this month.

29 Student-Athletes Receive Long Island Junior Soccer League Scholarships
The Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL), the largest league in the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA), has the largest scholarship program in Eastern New York.
