Unrestrained driver killed in single-vehicle crash in Madison Parish

Delta – A Greenville, Miss. woman was killed Wednesday morning in a single-vehicle crash in Madison Parish.

According to the Louisiana State Police (LSP), shortly after 9 a.m., troopers with Troop F began investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash on LA 3218, just east of U.S. 80, that claimed the life of 35-year-old Summer Rodgers.

LSP said the initial investigation revealed a 2007 Kia Amanti, driven by Rodgers, was traveling west on LA 3218. For reasons still under investigation, the Kia traveled off the right side of the road and overturned.

Rodgers, who was unrestrained, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. Routine toxicology samples were collected and will be submitted for analysis.

This crash remains under investigation.
