Dane County Humane Society seeks community help for injured cat

MADISON, Wis. -- The Dane County Humane Society announced Friday it is asking for the community's help to heal Cupid, a cat in desperate need of aid.

The DCHS said Cupid was brought in as a stray with multiple dire injuries, which require daily sedated bandage changes and flushes. He is on both pain medication and antibiotics for his wounds.

Because the DCHS is an independent, donor-supported nonprofit, an influx of new arrivals, including animals with complex challenges, has put a strain on its team. Unexpected medical emergencies like Cupid's can quickly exceed budget costs.

The DCHS said it hopes the community will donate to pay for the veterinary resources needed to heal Cupid and any additional urgent cases. To make a contribution and read Cupid's full story, visit the DCHS's "Help Cupid Heal!" webpage .

The DCHS said Cupid is not up for adoption at this time.
