MADISON, Wis. --  The Madison Fire Department responded to an early morning house fire on the west side Sunday. No injuries were reported.

The fire took place on the 300 block of Racine Rd., in the University Hill Farms neighborhood. MFD says they responded shortly after 12:30 am.

In a press release, MFD reports a neighbor called their dispatch center reporting smoke and growing flames coming from the back of the effected home. Responding crews battled " heavy flames and smoke originating from the back porch."

No one was home at the time of the fire, it was extinguished by 1:00 am. Damage to the home has left the resident who just moved in displaced.

The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
