The Lone Girl Brewing Company is opening an intimate taproom on Madison's eastside

Waunakee-based craft brewery The Lone Girl Brewing Company will open a second location on Madison’s east side on July 5. The new Lone Girl Taproom at 1817 E. Washington Ave. will feature Lone Girl's usual lineup of IPAs, stouts, ambers and more — plus, Roman-style pizza, an offering that's unique to the Madison taproom.

As The Lone Girl Brewing Company expands, quality remains a priority. General manager Caleb Percevecz hopes that the new taproom will make the brand more recognizable.

“We spent a lot of time focusing on making really good beer and we want more people to get a chance to have it,” Percevecz says.

The new taproom is a more intimate space — with 44 seats compared to Waunakee's 300. The Lone Girl Taproom also has an outdoor patio for patrons to enjoy.

While Percevecz says the menus are “wildly different” between the two locations, the food will be just as good and made with fresh ingredients. With a smaller kitchen and set up to work with, the new taproom will focus on making quality pizzas instead of running a full menu.

The Lone Girl Taproom currently has eight Roman-style pizzas on its menu. Some offerings are straightforward: “The Basic” features red or white sauce, roasted garlic, mozzarella and house seasoning. For more adventurous eaters, there are options like the “Caramelized Pear and Bleu Cheese” which comes topped with caramelized pears, bleu cheese, candied walnuts, arugula and honey.

Each pizza serves one to two individuals. Gluten-free options are also available.

On tap, the Lone Girl Taproom will have a slate of Lone Girl brews including its mango-infused wheat ale “Summer Lovin’” and “2 Trainz,” an imperial IPA with tropical and citrus flavors. "Love Train" — a staff creation made by mixing “Summer Lovin’” and “2 Trains” 50/50 from the taps — has also made its way onto the tap list.

Down the line, the Lone Girl Taproom plans to partner with local companies to add cider and non-alcoholic options to the tap list to better serve its customers.
