    Man sentenced to 12 years in prison for attempted homicide

    MADISON, Wis. -- A 21-year-old man was sentenced to 12 years in prison for  first-degree attempted intentional homicide after a shooting at a local McDonald's two years ago.

    Jamari Mondie was charged with and pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted 1st-degree intentional homicide as a party to a crime. He was also charged with two counts of armed robbery as a party to a crime. Those charges were dismissed but read in court.

    Mondie and his co-defendant Avion Vaccaro were charged with shooting at a parked car at a McDonald's on Dryden Drive on June 29, 2022. Two teens were inside the car at the time and suffered serious injuries.

    Online court records show Vaccaro is set to appear in court on September 16 at 2 p.m.
