Former Wisconsin legend ranked as highest-graded Big Ten player in PFF era

Former Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor is ProFootballFocus’ highest-graded player in the Big Ten since the outlet’s inception.

Graded at a 96.2, the now-Indianapolis Colt landed just above former Michigan Wolverine running back Blake Corum, former Oregon offensive lineman Penei Sewell, former UCLA lineman Laiatu Latu and former Michigan State tackle Jack Conklin.

PFF’s collegiate grading systems date back to 2014, the same year as the inaugural College Football Playoff.

During his three seasons in Madison, Taylor was a two-time Doak Walker Award winner, Walter Camp Player of the Year finalist, Maxwell Award semifinalist, Lombardi Award semifinalist, and unanimous first-team All-America selection.

The New Jersey native also became the seventh player in FBS history to rush for 6,000 yards after departing college and finished his career ranked No. 2 all-time among Big Ten players in rushing yards (6,174).

As a Colt, Taylor is looking to bounce back after rushing for 741 yards and seven scores in only 10 games of action in 2023. Following a few injury-riddled seasons, he will look to replicate a 2021 season where he posted a 1,811-yard, 18-touchdown output.
