MPD, MFD respond to crash on Whitney Way

MADISON, Wis. -- All lanes were back open westbound at Whitney Way on the Beltline as of 3:09 a.m., according to the Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation.

The Madison Fire Dept. was able to get the person trapped in their vehicle after a crash at Whitney Way on the Beltline out, a fire official said. The individual has been transported to UW Health University Hospital.

MFD didn't have any information about injuries, and Madison police was not providing any information as of 1:30 a.m.

PREVIOUS COVERAGE

All lanes were blocked westbound at Whitney Way on the Beltline due to a crash just after midnight Wednesday.

Dane County Dispatch said the call came in for a crash between two vehicles at 12:16 a.m., and that an occupant of one of the vehicles was trapped.

Dispatch didn't have any information about the status of the efforts to free that person, or information on injuries or arrests.

Madison fire and police departments were still on the scene responding as of 1:00 a.m.
