Panera announces launch of new menu items, plus a bagel hack

MADISON, Wis. -- Panera Bread announced Wednesday the latest additions to their menu transformation, including brand-new items, returning pastries, and a bagel hack.

Panera said their menu will sizzle with new spicy sandwiches, bringing the "Spicy Fiesta Chicken Sandwich" and "Kickin' Grilled Cheese" to guests' plates. The chicken sandwich will feature grilled chicken and a creamy salsa verde spread with melty aged white cheddar, zesty sweet peppers, roasted corn, and cilantro on Panera's ciabatta bread. The grilled cheese functions like Panera's classic, but will have a twist of added creamy salsa verde spread.

In addition to the sandwiches, Panera said it will also release a new line of avocado toast: The "Classic Avo" and the "Garden Avo" will hit the new menu this summer. Panera said it will also bring back sesame and blueberry bagels to the menu.

Panera said in celebration of the bagels' return, it will share the "Bagels are Back Sandwich Hack," where full bagels will be served at half the sandwich cost. With this hack, guests can order any whole-sized sandwich and customize the bread to the bagel of their choice, creating two bagel sandwiches for the price of one whole sandwich.
