Man arrested after two guns, drugs found on Madison's east side

MADISON, Wis. -- A 22-year-old man was arrested after two guns, drugs were recovered after he allegedly crashed a stolen vehicle Wednesday morning.

Police said the man was sleeping in a alleged stolen vehicle near Sprecher Road.

Members of the Gang and Neighborhood Crime Abatement Team, Dane County Narcotics Task Force and K-9 teams surrounded the vehicles.

Police said they found two stolen vehicles at a home on Copernicus Way.

Once contacted, the man allegedly tried to speed away from the area but was impeded by tire spikes.

Police said the man crashed his vehicle in the 4600 block of Highway TT hitting a parked, unoccupied car in a driveway.

After his arrest, officers responded to another address on Madison's east side and reportedly recovered a fourth stolen car related to the man.

The Dane County Sheriff's office is investigating the crash.

The man was arrested on a probation hold warrant, felony battery, strangulation, intimidation of a victim, felon in possession of a firearm, operating a motor vehicle without an owner's consent, eluding, recklessly endangering safety, possession with intent to deliver THC, and and another drug charge.

He was taken to Dane County Jail.
