MADISON, Wis. -- The Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run announced Friday its international team will pass the Peace Torch in Madison this month.

The Peace Run, an international torch relay, said its routes will pass the torch through the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia as a symbol of humanity's aspiration for a more peaceful world. The Peace Run will visit schools, youth organizations, and local events to offer educational presentations, which will promote self-esteem and the oneness of humanity.

The Peace Run said its 2024 North American route began in April, when a team from New York left to begin the torch's journey around the United States. In Wisconsin, the team will cover 60 miles from Richland Center to Madison on Rte. 14 and University/Campus Drive. The continuous relay will also run through three provinces of Canada before arriving back in New York mid-August.

On Thursday, July 25, the Peace Run said the team and local children will pass the Peace Torch at 10:30 a.m. at the Madison Children's Museum. The event will give citizens a dynamic way to express their own hopes and dreams for a more harmonious world.
