MADISON, Wis. -- The Overture Center announced Wednesday tickets for more than 20 national and international "Overture Presents" shows will be available for purchase on Friday, July 26, at 11:00 a.m.

The Overture Center said it will present a variety of shows, including drama, comedy, and musical performance. In addition to shows in the general lineup, the Center will feature National Geographic Live, Cabaret, Up Close, Fringe Festival, and Duck Soup Cinema. Some are making their debut on the stage.

    • "The Red Hot Chilli Peppers," a fusion of traditional Scottish music and hip-hop
    • "Goodnight Moon & The Runaway Bunny," a soothing and endearing fairytale stage adaptation

Among these returning favorites, some of which hold Grammy nominations, the Center said it will also present shows that are making their debut on the Overture stage. New shows include:

    • "Shrek the Musical," a musical inspired by the Oscar-winning DreamWorks animated film
    • "Churchill," a one-man-show where British actor David Payne brings Sir Winston Churchill to life
    • "Brave Space," an enchanting circus adventure with all-female acrobats

The Overture Center said it will also feature performances from National Geographic Live, including shows about the heart of the Arctic, the Tyrannosaurus Rex's rise to dominance, and the vibrant depths of the Great Barrier Reef.

The Center said cabaret performances will show the talents of Alysha Umphress, Sidney DuPont, and Stella Cole. Umphress, a Broadway alum, will transport viewers to New York's popular supper club "54 Below." DuPont will celebrate the legendary Sammy Davis Jr., and Cole will perform a night of timeless classics and jazzy renditions.

The Center said its "Up Close" section will include showings of a Grammy-nominated saxophonist and pianist, an Arabic musician with jazz and classical influences, and a punk rock and jazz fusion. Duck Soup Cinema shows will be held in October, January, and May.

Tickets can be purchased at overture.org . Many shows offer discounted group tickets for orders of 10 or more tickets for the same performance. Attendees who buy tickets to three or more shows will receive a 15%-off discount, and those who buy tickets to five or more shows will receive a 20%-off discount.
