Construction to begin on a portion of Stevens Street Monday

MADISON, Wis. -- Citizens who take Stevens Street from North Franklin Avenue to Grand Avenue will have to find an alternative route for the next year.

The construction will replace aging and deteriorating utilities for Stevens Street and North Franklin Avenue next year.

The North Franklin Avenue sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and water main will be replaced. The Stevens Street sanitary main and laterals, and storm sewer main and inlets will be replaced.

For both North Franklin Avenue and Stevens Street there will be a replacement of gravel base and asphalt with spot replacement of curb, sidewalk and driveway aprons.

Construction is anticipated to end in spring/summer 2025.
