Boys & Girls Club, Jackson Yard Care team up for landscaping camp
While summer is usually a time for students to decompress, a group of local Madison high schoolers got to work, setting out to learn the ins and outs of landscaping. Four Madison high schoolers with the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County (BGCDC) spent a week learning from Action Jackson, CEO of Jackson’s Yard Care, 922 S Bird St., Sun Prairie. The students made rounds in a miniature version of Jackson’s Yard Care workforce development program where they received hands-on training with tools, safety, behind the scenes aspects and what it takes to work in landscaping. The weeklong training is a component of the BGCDC’s youth workforce development programs in trades and Jackson’s push to provide high quality instruction in landscaping.
Leaked list of neo-Nazi music website customers includes name of Racine police officer
A leaked list of customers of a purveyor of neo-Nazi, white supremacist music contains the name of a Racine police officer, Madison365 has learned. The list, obtained and posted online by the antifascist group AFA Sweden in December, lists about 20,000 customers who purchased albums or other merchandise from late 2017 to mid-2022 from the Swedish company Midgard. The list also details the items customers purchased and includes personally identifying information such as mailing addresses.

Almost two decades ago, Leslie Damaso accidentally stumbled upon Mineral Point, Wisconsin, on a roadtrip with her partner, Keith, to see the Dickeyville Grotto in the dead of winter. On the ride back home to Cross Plains, they took the Mineral Point exit to see what the small historical town had to offer. And thank goodness they did: Over the past 18 years, Damaso has called Mineral Point home and has steadily fostered a sense of community there. She teaches piano and voice lessons at her studio, Buttonhill Music Studio, and recently opened the bookstore Republic of Letters, which has quickly become a neighborhood spot.
