Loring Hospital Contributes $28.27 Million To State Economy In 2023
Iowa hospitals play a central role in supporting their home community’s vitality, and Loring Hospital in Sac City is no exception, contributing an estimated $28.27 million to the state’s economy in 2023. According to a recent report released by the Iowa Hospital Association (IHA), Loring Hospital supported 225 jobs throughout the state, 118 of which were direct employment at Loring. In total, the hospital paid $7.1 million in wages and benefits to staff, which is then spent locally to support area businesses. OPPD Workers Return From Helping Utilities In Iowa/Illinois
The Omaha Public Power District crews that went to Iowa and Illinois to assist with power restoration efforts after damaging storms are returning home to Nebraska. Des Moines police identify woman killed in weekend crash
DES MOINES, Iowa — Des Moines police have identified the woman who was killed in a crash Saturday night. Police responded to a crash shortly after 8 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Second Avenue and Holcomb Avenue on the city's north side. A woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Four others — two adults and two minors — were hospitalized with serious injuries.
