Zaxby’s is Set to Expand Further in Texas After Signing a New Development Deal

Popular chicken chain, Zaxby’s has concluded arrangements with an experienced franchise owner to expand into the Rio Grande Valley, Texas. The new Zaxby’s franchisee David Bramble who already owned five units with another restaurant recently inked a deal to open new six Zaxby’s locations.

David Bramble first discovered Zaxby’s during a family road trip to Disneyworld in Florida. "Not having a Zaxby’s where we lived, we didn’t know how delicious it is. My family and I fell in love with Zaxby’s during our trip, and we even stopped at a couple more locations on the way back home because we enjoyed it so much," said Bramble.

Since the Disney trip, the new Zaxby’s owner has been making an effort to get a Zaxby's franchise: "I've been trying to get a Zaxby's franchise since that Disney trip. When I received the email giving me the green light - it’s been a game-changer," Bramble explained.

Commenting on the development, Bert Lane, Vice President of Development at Zaxbys, expressed delight and enthusiasm for the new deal.

Zaxby’s serves fresh, prepared-at-order Chicken fingers and wings tossed in a variety of bold and spicy sauces. The menu also features Zaxby’s famous Signature Sandwich, its wildly popular Chicken Bacon Ranch Loaded Fries, and the brand's fan-favorite Fried Pickles.

Bramble will oversee the operations of the new Zaxby’s locations, with his son Vance serving as a manager in training. This venture is part of Bramble's legacy plan, which includes both his Zaxbys and Denny's franchises. He not only wants to groom his son for management, but he loves developing everyone on his team.

"Being able to develop people and see them move up has been incredibly rewarding for me" Bramble shared. "All of our general managers and managers have been with us for years and have grown within the company. It's gratifying to see them succeed."

The upcoming Zaxby’s location in the McAllen area is expected to open by February 2025.

Zaxby’s was founded in 1990 by Childhood friends Zach McLeroy and Tony Townley. The duo established the first Zaxby's, originally called ZAX to serve only the highest quality food in a fun environment. They decided to franchise the brand in 1994 after the Concept proved successful.
