The residents of Knoxville might want to keep their umbrellas close and raincoats at hand as the National Weather Service (NWS) predicts a series of wet days ahead. According to the NWS, starting today, there's a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 8 am, with a high temperature nearing 83 degrees. The skies will stay mostly overcast throughout the day.

Truck driver killed north of Salem
A semi-trailer truck ran off SC 130 north of Salem, killing the driver. He was 61-year-old Osvaldo Perdomo of Homestead, Florida. Coroner Addis says the Kenworth tractor trailer truck driven by Perdomo overturned and went down an embankment off 130/the Whitewater Falls Road. The 1:50 pm Friday accident occurred near the Cg Roxane Crystal Geyser water plant and the Kenworth had received a load of bottled water for transport.
