Officials believe that excessive heat exposure played a role in the death of a Mississippi man who was found lying in his backyard Tuesday.

WTVA in Tupelo reports that a passerby found 86-year-old Theodis Stevenson lying in his Lowndes County yard on Tuesday and called 911 to report his discovery.

After emergency responders arrived at Stevenson’s residence, Stevenson was transported to the hospital, where he was treated for hyperthermia and a leg fracture.

Stevenson later died at the hospital that night.

Officials believe that Stevenson fell in his yard Tuesday morning, broke his hip, and fell victim to the heat exposure and sun.

Condolences to the family , I guess people just don’t check on the elderly anymore, this is a shame before God, and I bet he would help anyone that ask, people when you have elderly people in your family, as your neighbors please check on them it’s time for this world to STOP being selfish and saying Ain’t got nothing to with him/her he/she got family members that come and see him or that stay down the streets or around the corner, yes it’s hot and I know that elderly people can be a little stubborn, but that’s the way the are, we are all God’s children so we support to help each other if they’re in need especially the elderly and children that can’t help themselves,I’m praying that this world gets better before the Last Days and God comes to judge is all, in the name of Jesus Amen.
