It is not every day that Miss Mississippi celebrates the future by welcoming back a restaurant of the past.

Miss Mississippi 2024 Becky Williams was in Natchez this weekend to celebrate a new dining experience with The Rendezvous Restaurant’s grand opening.

The Rendezvous restaurant on Main Street in Natchez celebrated its grand opening Saturday with a nod to the past and a touch of royalty. Miss Mississippi 2024, Becky Williams, helped cut the ribbon alongside owners Sammy Atkins, Wayne Bryant Canon, and John Branton. Local dignitaries, including Mayor Pro Tem Sarah Carter Smith and Ward 1 Alderwoman Valencia Hall, were also in attendance.

Wayne Bryant Canon, known for his previous role as executive director and chef of The Carriage House Restaurant in Natchez, is reviving The Rendezvous, a beloved Natchez institution. Canon, who celebrated his 14th birthday at the original Rendezvous, is committed to bringing back the nostalgia that made the place special. The restaurant, which offers white tablecloth fine dining with a fun and approachable atmosphere, will feature live music nightly, including jazz from the piano in The Continental Room. Canon and Atkins, lifelong friends, aim to make The Rendezvous a new hub for Natchez.
