Mississippi woman killed, another injured in weekend crash

A Mississippi woman was killed, and another was injured in a single-vehicle crash in Stone County.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol reports that the fatal wreck happened on US 49 at about 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug.31.

Officials say 37-year-old Kristen Arendale was driving a a 2007 Toyota 4 Runner in the northbound lane of th highway when the vehicle left the highway and overturned.

Jamie Lynn Sullivan, 34, a passenger in the vehicle and Arendale were both transported to a local hospital. Sullivan later died from her injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
