A new Mississippi record for the largest female alligator was certified today by the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP).

The massive alligator, caught by Jason Ullendorf on the Pascagoula River, measured 11 feet and ¾ inch in length, breaking the previous record by nearly a foot.

The alligator weighed in at 324 pounds, with a belly girth of 37 inches and a tail girth of 32 inches. MDWFP Alligator Program Coordinator Andrew Arnett confirmed the record-setting catch.

“Congratulations to Jason on this remarkable achievement!” the MDWFP announced.
