An individual has been arrested after a past social media post resurfaced, prompting swift action from local law enforcement.

On Friday, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office and Bruce Police Department were alerted by the FBI about a Snapchat “memory” that included a threatening comment.

The post, originally made two years ago, read, “I say we go shoot up a school.”

The individual responsible for the post, identified as Elsie Jo Cavnor, was immediately questioned and subsequently arrested on charges of making a terroristic threat.

Local schools were placed on high alert for a brief period, though authorities confirmed that at no point were any children in danger.

“We always err on the side of caution,” a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office stated. “Based on the information obtained through the investigation, no credible threat to the school or its students was identified.”

Cavnor remains in custody as the investigation continues.
