17-year-old charged with murder after fight on basketball court turns deadly, police report

A 17-year-old has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with a fight on a basketball court that escalated into a fatal shooting.

Jeremiah Wilson, 17, has been charged with murder after he turned himself in to law enforcement.

Wilson was arrested in connection with a shooting at a basketball court at the Hazlehurst Softball Complex that occurred at approximately 7 p.m. Monday.

Police say that the victim, identified as Jaylen Larry, 23, had been shot multiple times during a fight with Wilson. Larry was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Wilson later turned himself in to the police in Brookhaven.
