One of the nation’s leading manufacturers of outdoor recreation products is relocating its national warehouse and distribution center from Nevada to Mississippi.

Exxel Outdoors’ move from Reno, Nevada, to Tupelo represents a corporate investment of over $2 million and will create at least 40 new jobs in the area.

The decision to move the distribution center to Tupelo places Exxel Outdoors closer to the majority of its customers, enabling faster delivery and improved services. Additionally, the new location offers a strategic connection to Exxel’s manufacturing operations in Haleyville, Alabama, home to the largest and only major sleeping bag plant in the U.S.

Governor Tate Reeves praised the announcement, saying, “Exxel Outdoors’ decision to locate in Tupelo underscores Mississippi’s commitment to maintaining a business environment that fosters growth. This is another economic development win for our state.”

The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) is supporting the project through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive (MFLEX) program, and Lee County is also providing assistance.

Exxel Outdoors’ product portfolio includes renowned brands such as Kelty, Sierra Designs, and Ultimate Direction, with offerings in outdoor recreation, military gear, airbeds, and urban travel. The company is expected to begin hiring for the new facility immediately.

“We are excited to become part of Tupelo’s vibrant community,” said Harry Kazazian, Chairman and CEO of Exxel Outdoors. “The support we’ve received from the MDA and Lee County has been exceptional.”

Tupelo Mayor Todd Jordan expressed enthusiasm for the project, highlighting the positive impact on the local economy: “Exxel Outdoors brings world-recognized brands to Tupelo and will help further diversify our local economy.”

With convenient access to transportation networks, Exxel Outdoors is positioned for long-term success in its new Tupelo location, officials said.
