Ten years after the death of Graceland Too’s original owner, Paul MacLeod, the Elvis Presley shrine will reopen next weekend. Graceland Too, located at 200 E. Gholson Avenue in downtown Holly Springs, gained fame under MacLeod’s ownership. Known for his eccentric devotion to Elvis, MacLeod painted the two-story home in bright colors like blue and pink and welcomed visitors to view his vast collection of Elvis memorabilia at any hour.

The Holly Springs Tourism Office is sponsoring a three-day Elvis Week event, featuring live music, activities, and tours of Graceland Too by current owner Marie Underwood. Tours will be available on Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. for $5.

This reopening follows the annual Elvis Week celebration at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee, held from August 9 through 17 to honor Presley’s life and legacy.

On Friday, August 16, Graceland Too will host a Blues on the Back Porch event from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with performances by Tim Hembree and Big Heath, karaoke, and open mic sessions. Tickets are $5. Saturday’s theme will be Blue Hawaii Luau, encouraging guests to wear luau attire. The day will feature Elvis workshops for kids, a water slide, Elvis performances, and a comedy show from noon to 8 p.m., with $5 admission.

The weekend will conclude with a free gospel and revival service on Sunday morning from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. That evening, a “Sideburns Night” Elvis contest will be held at Burnside’s Bar & Grill at 6 p.m., with a $10 entry fee. All tickets and fees are cash only.

Graceland Too has undergone extensive renovations to preserve its status as a unique roadside attraction, with substantial investments in structural repairs and updates. This reopening marks the largest event held at Graceland Too since MacLeod’s death, offering fans a chance to celebrate Elvis in a distinctive setting that reflects the passionate fandom of both MacLeod and Underwood.
