Parts of Lake of the Woods Bike Trail closing for upgrades

MAHOMET, Ill. (WCIA) — Heads up, bicyclists: parts of the Lake of the Woods Bike Trail will be closing for some improvements this September.

Officials with the Champaign County Forest Preserve said the trail will be milled and resurfaced. The project will last from Sept. 9 through Oct. 2. The work is subject to delays due to weather conditions.

The closures will include all of Buffalo Trace Prairie, as well as parking lots at Crowley Road, Route 47, and Hawthorn Hill.
