WEDNESDAY - FIRST ALERT WEATHER NIGHT: Wednesday looks to start off generally quiet before another front brings scattered showers and thunderstorms into our region between Wednesday night to Thursday morning. During the day, we can expect mostly sunny skies and a gusty wind from the southeast. High temperatures will be in the 70s to low 80s. As for the severe weather potential, the Storm Prediction Center has easternmost ND, the central Valley, and parts of northwest MN in a Marginal Risk (Level 1, isolated) for severe storms, with an area of Slight Risk (Level 2, scattered) for severe storms from the Devils Lake basin down through the James River Valley. Hail up to 1.5″ and damaging winds up to 60 mph are the primary threats. There is a low threat of a tornado, generally to the west of our region. These storms will continue overnight from west to east, so make sure to have ways to receive warnings/alerts during the night! Might be a good idea to park in the garage before bed if that is a possibility, as well as bring in the potted plants.
