Whiskey Myers’ “Lonely East Texas Nights” Is Officially Certified Gold

You love to see it. Today, Whiskey Myers' fan-favorite song "Lonely East Texas Nights" was officially certified Gold by the RIAA, meaning it has moved over 500,000 units since it was released: Written by frontman Cody Cannon, it has been a fan-favorite for many years, and was initially included on their 2008 Road of Life album and later released as a single in 2016. The song is relatively simple, which finds the narrator missing a love back home who is lonely in East Texas, and he's doing everything he can to get back to her: "Same old song on the radio tonight One about wine and roses and candlelight But I'm gettin' all from you with every town that I play Maybe this distance is more than we can take Somewhere in East Texas you're out alone But I can't dry tears on the telephone But I'm comin' back to you I swear I'll make it right I'm makin' my way back home on a red-eye midnight flight" The simplicity, and relatively, is what makes it so special, though, and it's cool to see that fans are still spinning it all these years later. Whiskey Myers Add New Dates To 2024 Tour

Another year with jam-packed shows across the country. Whiskey Myers has already performed a slew of tour dates for the first half of 2024 , and they have tons more that will run through November. In addition to their own headlining dates, the Texas boys will also open a few shows for the great Hank Williams, Jr. this year too. Whiskey Myers has an absolutely stacked group of openers who will rotate on different dates, with The Red Clay Strays and Lukas Nelson & POTR opening the first leg of the tour, and SOUTHALL, Whitey Morgan and the 78’s, Anderson East, Blackberry Smoke, Reid Haughton, Treaty Oak Revival, Vincent Neil Emerson and Eddie Flint taking turns on the rest of the shows. They've added 49 Winchester, Colby Acuff, Angel White, Cam Allen, J.J, Grey and Mofro as rotating openers to these new dates as well. And as a band who prides themselves on their grueling tour scheduling and pretty much staying on the road all year long (as you can probably tell), you can bet that they truly have one of the best live shows in the business, and if they'll be anywhere near you this year, and they probably will be by the time it's over, get yourself to a show.
