Chip Curry is running for re-election to the Maine Senate seat representing District 11, Waldo County. A strong advocate for women’s healthcare rights, he believes healthcare decisions should be made between a patient and her doctor. He is also a friend to the LGBTQ community, believing that everybody deserves the same rights under law. His is a voice towards a more inclusive and accepting society.

Curry has worked on the issue of prescription drugs , helping to lower the cost, removing barriers to the Medicare Savings Plan as well as the Drugs for the Elderly program. He has argued to improve transparency in drug pricing, and for making lower-cost insulin more accessible. Because he understands the needs of rural communities, he has helped community health centers provide access to affordable prescription drugs where a pharmacy may not be nearby.

As a member of the Maine Fire Commission , he opposed the Emergency Response Standard that would place overly onerous Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements on small, mostly volunteer, small town fire departments. Lastly, he authored a bill that became law in April that protects Maine landowners from transmission and distribution utilities’ unbridled use of eminent domain. LD 2087 is not anti-development, it just gives the little guy more rights when faced with a land taking for the benefit of the state.

Chip Curry has been a strong voice for individual rights. He cares about people and he works for us. Let’s return Chip Curry to the state Senate in November.
