Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee filed the lawsuits, which alleges that the Shell gas station, located at 5910 W. Loop S. in Bellaire, raised the price of unleaded gas to $3.79 and $4.29 per gallon, an increase of 25% and 41% respectively from the pre-hurricane price of $3.03. Another Shell gas station allegedly sold premium gas for $5.49 per gallon, a 44% markup from $3.80 before the storm. Following Beryl’s impact on our area, the attorney’s office said it received over 250 complaints of price gouging
