Money moves taking place in Texas. The Dallas Cowboys have locked in Dak Prescott for a four-year extension. The deal is reportedly worth $240 million, or $60m per year, making Prescott the highest paid QB in NFL history.

Sports fans are hardly surprised Prescott’s choice to stand his ground landed him such a grand payoff: At 31 years old, he is at the top of his game, he led the league with 410 completions and 36 touchdowns and finished second in MVP voting, per NFL.com .

The recently announced deal includes a guaranteed $231 million in addition to an $80 million signing bonus.

This isn’t the only big sports news to come out of The Lone Star State recently. WFAA will now serve as the Dallas Mavericks’ official local broadcast partner. The whole schedule will be revealed soon, but the Mavericks’ game versus the Suns on October 26th will kick off the broadcast.

This comes after Mavericks fans have increasingly grown frustrated with the local television rights, the team decided to end their partnership with Bally Sports.

Nearly three times as many Texans will be able to watch Mavericks games thanks to this new deal, since the majority of games will now be available to about 10 million people.
