Tia Mowry Gets Candid About Her Divorce From Cory Hardrict In Her New Reality Series

Tia Mowry is opening up about her marriage and divorce from ex-husband Cory Hardrict in her new reality series.

In her new WeTV reality show My Next Act, the 46 year old actress tells audiences that she hasn’t been presenting an “authentic” picture of her life, including her marriage, until now.

In the first episode of the series, which premiered on October 4, Mowry sat down with some of her friends to open up about everything she’s been dealing with since her 2022 split from Hardrict. “I got tired of not being authentic and living in my truth,” she explained. “I got tired of showing up at events and people thinking that everything was perfect when it wasn’t. I would go home and feel alone.”

She continued in a confessional, “My persona as a celebrity is kind of like the ‘girl next door,’ the white picket fence. But what I didn’t show was the reality of what was really going on in my marriage. Maybe I was trying to live a fantasy.”

During the episode, Mowry recalled running into Hardrict at this year’s Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards, a moment that went viral on social media. While the co-parents appeared to be cordial and on good terms on social media, Mowry admitted that the encounter made her reflect. “The first thing that came to my mind was ‘Let me just hug him and let him know that it’s gonna be ok,’” she said during the episode. “And I feel like that has really been my role in this marriage.”

“Society says that the only reason why we are here on earth is to please a man. To cater to, to serve, to birth their children. But that mindset is toxic because if you believe that, and I did for a minute’ you will stay in a situation where you are unhappy. Life is too short to live like that.”

The mother of two’s new reality show is her chance at rebuilding her life post divorce. In an April announcement post, Mowry said that each new episode will deliver “t he ultimate access to behind-the-scenes goings-on of my multifaceted life. You’ll join me as I navigate my newly single status, motherhood, building businesses, and juggling my super busy and ever-evolving career.”
