Malibu rocked by 4.7 earthquake with celebs & beachgoers terrified minutes after Hawaii’s Big Island struck by 5.7 quake

MILLIONS of people have been left shocked and terrified after a major earthquake hit.

The preliminary magnitude 4.7 earthquake was felt in California, 10 miles outside of Malibu.

The earthquake was said to have hit around 1:45 p.m. PST at a depth of 13 kilometers, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The earthquake emerged in the Santa Monica Mountains, roughly 35 miles west of downtown Los Angeles.

The U.S. Geological Survey has detected three aftershocks so far registering 2.7, 3.0, 2.6.

Comedian Kathy Griffin revealed she was on the beach when she felt the tremor.

"You guys aren’t gonna f**king believe where I was during that earthquake. On the stairs walking up from the beach in Malibu! I swear on my t*ts. I was like 'well this makes sense.'I think it’s time I stop surviving things," she wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass also took to social media to alert their citizens of what had happened.

"A preliminary magnitude 4.6 earthquake near Malibu shook the Los Angeles area this afternoon," she explained.

"Our@LAFD has activated to conduct its routine survey of the city to assess for any damages.:

Currently, there have been no reports of any injuries or building damage at this time.
