Sean Penn in heated exchange with girlfriend as Hollywood star slumps over in parking lot

Sean Penn looked "frustrated" with his girlfriend Olga Korotyayeva.

The Hollywood actor appeared less than impressed during a recent outing in Malibu, California , with the star pictured slumped over with his head in his hands. He was snapped outside popular seafood restaurant Neptune's Net, heading in to pick up the couple's order.

But it was when he walked out that things seemingly didn't go to plan. Olga stayed in the pair's pricey Rivian pick-up truck, parking up while Sean collected their meal. Sources say the 63-year-old Academy Award winner was left "confused" when he left the eatery.

Shutterbugs caught the moment Sean stepped out with the bag of food, and a Dunkin' iced coffee. "Walking around the back of the building, Sean appeared to get frustrated at one point," explained a source. "Putting his head in his hands and bending over. He then noticed his girlfriend and gesticulated at her to come his way and pick him up."

Sean was famously married to pop legend Madonna back in the 80s. Only last year, writer Mary Gabriel made bombshell revelations about their marriage in an extract from her new biography. She claimed Madonna was said to have wanted a "marriage of equals" with Sean, but he wanted traditional gender roles and to be "the man" amid her skyrocketing fame. Meeting on the set of the music video for her song Material Girl in January 1985, the couple wed months later in August of the same year.

They split four years later, and further details of their marriage were revealed in Mary's book last fall. In an extract in the Sunday Times, Mary wrote about how when things broke down, Madonna’s career was skyrocketing. She said: "In the three years since they [Madonna and Sean] had met she had gone from being an up-and-coming pop star to being the wealthiest female entertainer in the world ."

She noted: "Their expectations for their relationship had also diverged. She wanted a marriage of equals. He had a strong streak of traditionalism that required him to be the 'man'." During their time together, they collaborated for a couple of projects. Madonna then dedicated her third studio album True Blue to her husband.

But their love story wasn't to stand to test of time, which was apparent when Madonna filed for divorce in December 1987, but withdrew the papers two weeks later. The couple's divorce was then officially filed by Madonna in 1989, citing "irreconcilable differences".
