Does the southern border's issue of illegal immigration present a credible terrorist threat? Governor Ron DeSantis believes there's a "good bet" that it may heighten the terrorism risk. I interviewed three Orlando veterans to get their thoughts on this complex issue.

The Issue: Illegal Immigration at the Southern Border & the Risk to American Citizens

Despite the governor's diligent attempts to combat illegal immigration, instances of unauthorized border crossings still manage to occur, presenting a potential risk to Americans as noted by DeSantis.

Governor DeSantis stated, “I think that there is a good bet that somebody that’s come across that [southern] border will commit an act of terrorism."

3 Orlando Veterans Speak Up

I interviewed three Orlando veterans to get their thoughts on Gov. Ron DeSantis' response to illegal immigration at the Southern border. Here's what they said:

Jennifer stated, "I'm all for immigration. Immigration is great if they come through the correct channels. But anyone crossing illegally? That's a different issue and one that needs to be dealt with."

Melvin stated, "I'm not surprised. Look, I'm Republican but I will never vote for DeSantis again. Running for president has made the man more unhinged than before. He's only interested in votes."

Kevin stated, "I stand with DeSantis. Border security deserves a high priority, and we need to protect Americans from acts of terrorism."
