Free pet vaccination event hosted by Spayed and Aid of Kentucky
RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) - Spayed and Aid of Kentucky has partnered with PETCO Love to organize a free pet vaccination event in Logan County on September 7, 2024. The event is an effort to prevent the spread of deadly, yet preventable, diseases among local pets. This vaccination clinic is part of a project by Petco Love to provide one million free pet vaccines nationwide through its Vaccinated and Loved campaign.
Medical cannabis in Newport? Commission mulls possibilites, faces opposition
The Newport Commission discussed permitting medical cannabis operations in the city — with some divisive opinions on the topic. Newport Commissioners Julie Smith-Morrow and Mike Radwanski and Newport Mayor Tom Guidugli Jr. expressed interest in the idea. Commissioner Ken Rechtin said he intends to vote no, and multiple residents spoke at the meeting asking the city to vote no on the operations. Commissioner Beth Fennell was absent from the meeting.

Low-cost rabies vaccination clinic to be held Sept. 12
The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department will host a low-cost rabies vaccination clinic 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at Castlewood Park, 201 Castlewood Drive. Vaccinations will cost just $5.
