Proposed Trades See Steelers Lose Veteran Defensive Linemen
In his latest NFL trade rumors story, Bleacher Report’s Alex Ballentine seemed very confident in the defensive line depth of the Pittsburgh Steelers. That’s because in two separate trade proposals, Ballentine suggested the Steelers move on from either Cameron Heyward or DeMarvin Leal. First, Ballentine proposed the Detroit...
Difference between Steelers new OC Arthur Smith and Matt Canada is night-and-day
Before even knowing who Pittsburgh's offensive coordinator was going to be during the 2024 season, it was a safe bet to assume that the new hire was going to be a step up from Matt Canada. Under Canada's direction, the Steelers never finished 20th or better in points per game or yards per game in all three seasons as offensive coordinator.
Yasmani Grandal’s role challenged by Paul Skenes: Impact on Pittsburgh Pirates lineup
The Pittsburgh Pirates signed Yasmani Grandal but his performance has been poor, batting .182 with subpar defensive stats. Despite better options like Joey Bart and Jason Delay, they kept Grandal, possibly due to pitcher Paul Skenes. Skenes has excelled with Grandal catching, possibly prolonging Grandal's stay. However, the time has come for Skenes to work with other catchers, especially as the deadline approaches.

Steelers veteran believes undrafted rookie is 'going to be a great player'
It's not often that an undrafted rookie makes enough of an impression to earn reps with the first-team defense to start training camp, but that's exactly what is happening in Pittsburgh.Undrafted rookie cornerback Beanie Bishop has been one of the biggest stars of Steelers training camp thus far, flashing his coverage ability over the first two days. My thoughts on Day 2 of #Steelers training camp. When will QB Russell Wilson return and who’s standing out? pic.twitter.com/Pjzha9YppL— Aaron Becker (@Aaron_M_Becker) July 26, 2024 Bishop hasn't just impressed his coaches, either. Return for Diontae Johnson on ‘hot seat’ with training camp underway
Cornerback became a positional need for the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason, as both Levi Wallace and Patrick Peterson left in free agency. Unfortunately, it came at the expense of Pittsburgh’s most productive offensive player, wide receiver Diontae Johnson. The Steelers sent Johnson and their No. 240 pick to the Carolina Panthers in exchange for cornerback Donte Jackson and No. 178 pick (defensive lineman Logan Lee). TribLive’s Joe Rutter believes that Jackson is at risk of losing his job. He laid out five players on the hot seat at training camp. At the top is everybody’s favorite defensive end, Cameron Heyward. Here’s what Rutter had...
